This policy explains what data Nearme AI collects, how we use it, and the controls you have over your information. We keep this document plain and specific — no unnecessary legal fog.

1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account we collect your name, phone number, email address, and profile photo if you choose to provide one.
Order & Transaction Data
We store details of the orders you place — items, quantities, prices, delivery addresses, and payment method type (we do not store full card numbers).
Device & Usage Information
We automatically collect device identifiers, IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and interaction events to improve the platform.
Location Data
With your permission we collect precise or approximate location to show nearby stores, restaurants, and service providers relevant to you. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
Providing the Service
To process your orders, facilitate payments, coordinate delivery or pickup, and send order status updates.
Personalisation
To show you relevant stores, recommend products, and remember your preferences so repeat ordering is faster.
Safety & Fraud Prevention
To verify accounts, detect suspicious activity, enforce our Terms of Service, and keep the platform secure for all users.
Communication
To send transactional messages (order confirmations, delivery updates) and, with your consent, promotional offers. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
Platform Improvement
Aggregated and anonymised usage data helps us understand how people use the app and where we can reduce friction.
4. Location Data
Why We Need It
Nearme AI is a location-first platform. Your location lets us surface stores, restaurants, and delivery options near you and calculate delivery feasibility and fees.
How We Store It
Precise location is used in real time and not persistently stored beyond your last selected delivery address. Coarse location derived from IP may be retained for analytics purposes.
Your Control
You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device or browser settings. The app will fall back to a manually entered address.
5. Payment Information
What We Store
We store a record of each transaction including amount, date, and masked payment method (e.g., last 4 digits or UPI handle suffix). We never store full card numbers, CVVs, or full UPI PINs.
Security
All payment data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Our payment partners are PCI-DSS compliant.
6. Data Retention
Active Accounts
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations.
Account Deletion
If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for pending dispute resolution.
7. Your Rights
Access & Portability
You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction
You may update or correct inaccurate account information directly in the app under Profile settings.
Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data. Some data may be retained to comply with legal obligations.
Withdraw Consent
Where processing is based on your consent (e.g., marketing emails, location access) you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
How to Exercise Your Rights
Email us at privacy@thenearmeai.com with the subject line "Privacy Request". We will respond within 30 days.
9. Push Notifications
What We Send
Order updates, delivery status, and (with consent) promotional offers. Notification delivery uses Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Opting Out
You can disable push notifications at any time through your device OS settings or from the notification preferences screen in the app.
10. Children's Privacy
Age Restriction
Nearme AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you via the app or email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Continued Use
Your continued use of the platform after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
